This event, which was created in 2000, is a human adventure above all. It’s one of the only marathon in the world that brings to the runners a well known race confort with no help from any paid organization. Indeed, the support depends to all the human forces of the commune : servants of the communes, voluntary workers, inhabitants. It makes a total of 1400 volunteers mobilized to serve the runners and make them have a comfortable race.

Every year, the marathon takes place on a public holiday : Mai 1st. On that day, people celebrate work day, offering some lily of the Valley to their beloved. Senart marathon is a green and musical marathon. The hot line of the organizers is to make a race where all the runners are treated equitably. The competitors whose rank is one to five win some money, and all the runners are given special tee-shirts, some lily of the Valley. More than the material rewards, the runners enjoy a lot of musical animations during the race. More, 4 leaders of speed are engaged to run, respecting the time objectives of 3h, 3h30 , 4h00 and 4h30.

The departure and arrival take place in two marathon villages. In the Departure Village, you can find sportive animation for children and other races exhibited the days before the race. In the Arrival Village, the runners can make the most of a medical center, massages, food supply and a lot of exhibitors, partners of the marathon.

To finish, the race has been congratulationned by the French Federation of Athletism which gave its national label on may 1st 2002.
May 1st 2008 : the French Athletism Federation have organised the France Championship in Senart.
